Please phone Appointments line 01202 522625

for all enquiries about appointments.

The phone lines for appointments are open between 8.30am and 6pm (but closed for lunch between 12.30pm and 1.30pm)

This line is very busy between 8.30 and 10 am (about 800 calls per hour are being made at these times!), so you may wish to try to avoid these times if you wish to get through more easily

The standard appointment time with a doctor or nurse is 10 minutes. Please let us know when you are booking the appointment if you think you may need a longer time.

Minor operations and  coil fittings need to be discussed and agreed with the doctor before they are booked, so please book a normal appointment with your doctor to discuss these types of problems.

Walk in (Unbooked consultations)

Each weekday morning from 8am until 9.30am there is an unbooked (open surgery), when you can arrive at the surgery without an appointment and are assured of being seen by a doctor that morning. Generally you will be seen within about 30 minutes, but the wait can vary depending on the number of other patients and the complexity of their problems and we cannot guarantee which doctor will see you.

Telephone appointments

If your problem does not require you to be examined, you may prefer to book a telephone consultation. All doctors have these appointments available on a daily basis.

48 hour access

We recognise the fact that each patient will have different preferences as to when and how they are seen; some like to book a couple of weeks in advance whereas others may prefer to be seen the same day, even though their problem may not be an emergency. Although there has been a lot of government pressure to see all patients within 48 hours, we realise that this is not the choice of some patients and so we have retained the older systems, whilst still achieving the "48 hour Access Targets" set by the government.

Cancelling Appointments

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please telephone as soon as possible so that we may give your appointment to another patient.
