Please phone Appointments 01202 522622 (option 1)for all enquiries about appointments.The phone lines for appointments are open between 8.30am and 6pm (but closed for lunch between 12.30pm and 2.00pm) This line is very busy between 8.30 and 10 am, so you may wish to try to avoid these times if you wish to get through more easily The standard appointment time with a doctor or nurse is 10 minutes. Please let us know when you are booking the appointment if you think you may need a longer time. Minor operations and coil fittings need to be discussed and agreed with the doctor before they are booked, so please book a normal appointment with your doctor to discuss these types of problems. Urgent Consultations (initially by phone) Each day from 8.00am until 11.00am there is a telephone triage system. This service is for those patients who have a medical problem that cannot wait for a routine appointment. The patient rings the surgery, their details are taken, then the duty doctor rings the patient back to discuss the problem and if an examination is required asks the patient to attend the surgery at a given appointment time. Patients that have chronic / on-going problems are encouraged to make appointments with their own doctor or nurse to provide continuity of care Telephone appointments If your problem does not require you to be examined, you may prefer to book a telephone consultation. All doctors have these appointments available on a daily basis. Cancelling Appointments If you are unable to keep your appointment, please telephone as soon as possible so that we may give your appointment to another patient. |
