An "open surgery" starts at 8 am every weekday and all patients who arrive before 9.30am will be seen that morning. Usually the wait is less than 30 minutes, but is dependent on how many others turn up on the day. However you can always be sure that you will be seen by a doctor that morning.

As from 1st October 2004, the responsibility of providing Out of Hours medical cover (that is between 6.30pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all days Weekends and Bank Holidays) has been taken over by the Bournemouth & Poole PCT. The service will consist of initial telephone assessment followed, as appropriate, by either advice, or review by a Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic. Patients will be asked to attend their nearest Treatment Centre or visited at home if that is necessary. There is a treatment centre at Royal Bournemouth and Poole General Hospitals.
