We prescribe according to a formulary with our local hospital and Primary Care Trust (PCT). We are required by NHS Bournemouth & Poole to keep within budget whilst maintaining quality prescribing and work to provide the best use of our prescribing monies

Long Term Prescriptions

• We will monitor the dose and appropriateness of medicine required long term.

• Your doctor will do this using your records and may ask you to attend for review from time to time, and sometimes will need to perform a blood test

Avoiding Mistakes

• To maintain quality prescribing we will not accept telephone requests.

Routine "repeat prescriptions" via Internet

• Repeat prescriptions can be ordered via our website www.jfmc.co.uk through our electronic booking system (you will need to register to use this system, please contact the surgery for details). 
• Please leave at least 2 working days to process

Routine "repeat-prescriptions" – using ticked re-order form (printed on the right of your prescription).

• For further supply, tick the relevant item

• Place in the repeat prescription box in the lobby of the Medical Centre or send by post to James Fisher Medical Centre or by fax to 548580

• It will be returned by post if a stamped addressed envelope is provided with the request

• Your prescription can be collected from one of the local pharmacies if you have made arrangements to do so with them and have let us know

Please anticipate your next repeat prescription and allow us time to process it before coming to collect it
